Electronic Neurostatus-EDSS Increases Quality of Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) Assessments

October 15, 2018 Tyria Saul

Neurostatus-EDSS is the most widely used tool for assessing impairment and disability in MS clinical trials. It summarizes the assessment of 7 Functional Systems (FS) and ambulation (ambulation score, AS) to finally determine the EDSS score. CRF Health, a CRF Bracket Company, in collaboration with University Hospital Basel, developed an electronic Neurostatus-eEDSS® using the TrialMax Web™ to improve data quality by detecting inconsistencies in the scores assigned by the examiner. CRF Health's solution is based on a non-exclusive license from Neurostatus UHB and has been proven to increase the quality of EDSS assessments.
