Lansdale, PA – August 10, 2010: In July, CRF Health, the electronic patient reported outcomes (ePRO) solutions company, presented a session about PRO and ePRO data collection in clinical trials as a part of an academic course on Clinical Trial Practices and Management at the University of Basel in Switzerland. The course was a collaboration between the University of Basel, The European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM) in Basel and the Drug Information Association (DIA). Dr. Ingrid Klingmann, CRF Health’s Clinical Advisor, facilitated the four day training course. Kai Langel, Senior Systems Specialist for CRF Health led the session that highlighted the need for PRO collection and the benefits and processes of using ePRO technology from the perspective of a clinical study site.
“The objective of the session was to give participants insight into today’s modern data collection methods and enable them to handle the practical requirements of managing ePRO when conducting a clinical trial,” Dr. Ingrid Klingmann said. “Students were clearly engaged by using hands-on exercises and real-world examples of clinical trials.”
This course is just one example of CRF Health’s educational offerings for the clinical trial community. The company’s monthly ePRO webinar series has been active for nearly two years with over 500 participants from 175 companies. CRF Health’s leadership team has also been active in education by authoring a number of published articles, speaking at conferences and educating their customers through various User Group Meetings.
